Renowned for his perceptive sermons, Pastor David Ibiyeomie emphasised the amazing tale of Paul and Silas, which can be found in the New Testament book of Acts. The two apostles were imprisoned and in terrible conditions at midnight. However, the way they handled this challenging circumstance served as a lesson in unwavering faith and the transformational power of praise.
As the story goes, instead of succumbing to despair and hopelessness, Paul and Silas chose to pray and sing songs of praise to God. Their actions demonstrated a profound trust in divine intervention and a commitment to praising even in the darkest of times. According to him, “At midnight, when Paul and Silas were in the prison, they prayed and sang songs of praises and God delivered them. In the same vein, when you pray and nothing is working, stop and switch over to praise. Paul and Silas sang praises unto God and the prisoners heard them.”
