According to WABInfo, WhatsApp will prompt you to re-enter the password you used to encrypt your message backups.
WhatsApp is currently rolling this feature out, so there’s a chance that you might not have it just yet. This feature was spotted in WhatsApp version 2.23.9.74( 23.9.77for iOS). If you’re on an older version of WhatsApp, you’ll want to update it when you have the chance. Go to your respective app store, and search for WhatsApp. There, check and see if you see the update button.
Since WhatsApp is a platform that plenty of people use for business, encryption is crucial. You don’t want your important business messages to be swooped up by a bad actor. A few years ago, WhatsApp allowed people to encrypt their chat backups. You can save encrypted backups of your chats to Google Drive or iCloud.
When you enable this feature, you will be prompted to put in a password. Either that, or you will lock it with a 64-digit encryption key. So, if you want to gain access to your encrypted chats, you will need to re-enter that password.
