When Atiku Left The PDP, He Was The Vice President; After Losing In 2007, He Ran Again Against GEJ—Lere Olayinka

PDP chieftain Lere Olayinka claims that Atiku Abubakar was vice president in 2007 when he quit the PDP to run for office in the Action Congress. He went on to say that Atiku returned to run against Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2007 following his defeat.

Olayinka asserted in a TVC interview that Atiku Abubakar’s political actions have hurt the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He revealed that Atiku and a few other individuals had contributed to the PDP’s 2015 election defeat and had cost the party the opportunity to win the 2023 election.

According to him, “I don’t know whether we are going to have that kind of clear opportunity in the next 4 or 8 years. This opportunity that we have lost is about the clearest. And also, he joined some people in 2015 to push the PDP out of power. He has joined people to push the PDP out of power, and he has also made the PDP lose an opportunity to come back to power. It is time for him to go and rest. In 2007, for instance, he was the vice president of this country when he left the PDP to go to the Action Congress to contest. When he lost in 2007, he came back again in 2011 to contest against Jonathan.
