Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident and biological male who practices Christianity, has emerged as the primary suspect in the recent Charlie Kirk shooting. After investigators identified him as the primary suspect, Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed Robinson’s age and hometown. However, he declined to offer any additional information about his personal history while the investigation was ongoing.

Tyler lives in a six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah, that is worth roughly $600,000. His mother, Amber, previously attended the University of Utah and works for Intermountain Support Coordination Services. His father, Matt Robinson, is a 27-year Washington County Sheriff’s Department veteran and a registered Republican voter. Tyler also has two brothers: Austin and Logan.

Austin was entering his junior year of high school, while Logan was starting his freshman year, according to their mother, Amber’s 2021 Facebook post. Tyler attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021 and was awarded a $32,000 scholarship from the college. Tyler maintained a 4.0 GPA and scored near-perfect on the ACT.

He became interested in politics as a young adult. Robinson was unconnected with a political party, and while he was registered to vote at the time of the shooting, voting records showed him as “inactive,” which means he had not voted in the previous two general elections.

His parents, however, were both registered Republicans, according to The Wall Street Journal. Robinson’s relatives recently informed authorities that he had become more engaged in politics before the shooting, and the murder suspect described Kirk as “full of hate.”

He allegedly placed messages on many bullet shells, one of which included the song “Bella Ciao,” which was dedicated to the Italian struggle against Nazi fascists during WWII.

Tyler Robinson was recognized as the key suspect in the Charlie Kirk shooting.

Tyler Robinson has been identified by Utah police as the alleged gunman who fatally shot Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk during a campus event at Utah Valley University on September 10. Trump told ‘Fox & Friends’ that Robinson’s father alerted law authorities, citing the incident as a critical break in the case. Donald Trump stated:

“We have him with a great degree of assurance,” while declaring Kirk “the finest human” and demanding Robinson’s execution. Meanwhile, the FBI verified Robinson as the key suspect and released surveillance footage of him. The camera showed him leaving the Utah Valley University campus shortly following the incident. Investigators believe Robinson carried out the act alone, but they do not rule out the possibility of outside influence. Authorities had detained two people immediately after the incident, but eventually released them.

After learning that his son was responsible for the shooting, Robinson’s father contacted a youth pastor who also works as a U.S. Marshals task force officer, who recommended that he turn him in to the police.

The FBI has subsequently invited anyone with relevant information to come forward, offering a $100,000 reward. Notably, Utah Governor Spencer Cox has promised to seek the death penalty if Robinson is convicted. Officials have yet to reveal how Robinson obtained the pistol used in the assassination or what the motive was.

Robinson was handed in overnight Thursday after allegedly confessing to his father and the family’s priest that he had murdered Kirk, and his father escorted him back to Orem to give him in.

Ammunition discovered was imprinted with one of the messages on the casing, reading: “What’s this?” “Oh, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Ciao;” “If you read this, you are gay, LMAO;” And “Hey fascist, catch!.”

Tyler owned the grey Dodge Challenger spotted coming to Utah Valley University and driving away after the murder, and he was dressed in a plain maroon T-shirt, light-colored shorts, and a black cap with a white logo. Tyler had posted on Discord, a chat site, about getting a rifle from a drop point and then placing it in a bush wrapped in a towel; the same weapon that was discovered and belonged to him was used to shoot Charlie Kirk dead. Tyler had no criminal background, and no motivation or manifesto has yet been discovered.
