Why Anambra Became Number One In NECO Exams Under Peter Obi – Reno Omokri Reveals

On Wednesday, former presidential spokesman Reno Omokri accused Peter Obi of facilitating widespread exam malpractice in Anambra State during his tenure as governor.

In a tweet, Omokri claimed that Anambra’s top ranking in NECO exams was not due to investments in education but rather a result of rampant cheating. He alleged that the state had become known as a hub for exam fraud, and that 486 malpractice centers were closed after Obi’s departure in 2014.

Omokri argued that Anambra’s decline in NECO rankings after Obi’s tenure was a consequence of subsequent governors rejecting the use of malpractice. He cited Adamawa’s recent outperformance of Anambra as an example.

Omokri further claimed that Obi’s focus was on building breweries rather than schools. He maintained that the secret behind Anambra’s former success was “exam magic malpractice centers.”

In response to these allegations, Obi has previously stated that he did not build new schools during his tenure because it was not part of his manifesto. He emphasized that he had prioritized improving the quality of existing schools and the well-being of the students.
