Wike Didn’t Contribute Anything To Tinubu’s Electoral Victory – APC

Crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State continues to deepen as the State Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Grassroot Independent Campaign Council in Rivers State, GICC, Sir Augustine Wokocha said Governor Nyesom Wike did not play any role in the emergence of Ahmed Bola Tinubu electoral victory in the February 25 presidential election in Rivers State.

Wokocha, who was reacting to a statement credited to the South-South Coordinator of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard, BATV, Chief Tony Okocha that Governor Wike was instrumental to Tinubu’s victory in the State on Friday said that Rivers people willingly voted for Tinubu in the presidential election

According to the former Commissioner for Powers in the state, it’s wrong to attribute the victory of Tinubu to Rivers State Governor, saying that all stakeholders of Tinubu PCC contributed towards the victory in the State.

“It’s important, however, to state that the credit for the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in Rivers State belongs to all Rivers persons who trooped out to vote for the candidate of our party and the dynamic campaign structure that carried the message for renewed hope to all the nooks and crannies of Rivers State and not a single individual.

“It is important to state that every opinion expressed by Chief Okocha is his personal opinion as he neither spoke for the PCC nor for the TSG/ICC.

” It’s further important to state that at no time did the PCC/ICC meet to authorise Chief Okocha to express the opinion and sentiments so expressed. PCC/ICC Nigeria headquarters in Abuja and the President-elect, have not authorised any statements such as those expressed by Chief Okocha.

“We state that the victory of our president-elect was a natural cause of event given his phenomenal pedigree as an astute politician par excellence, administrator with an unmatchable track record of achievements, foresight and bold visions.

“Thanks to BVAS technology deployed by INEC. Every Nigerian who was handed a ballot paper in the electioneering process had only one vote and our gratitude goes to everyone who placed their finger in the ballot spaces reserved for APC culminating in the victory of the party in the election.”

He, therefore, called on Rivers residents who are eligible to vote to turn enmasse and vote for the candidate of their choice in the 11th, March , 2023 governorship election.

Only on Thursday, Okocha hailed Governor Wike for both material and financial contributions to make Tinubu’s presidency a huge success.
