In a recent post on his official X handle, Reno Omokiri highlighted that DSTV had previously blocked viewers from watching Nwabali’s impressive saves during the AFCON against South Africa. If DSTV couldn’t interfere with Nwabali’s performance, then it certainly can’t obstruct one’s destiny.
Regarding the Premier League, the speaker questioned its relevance to the audience. Instead, he advocated for watching Nigerian football teams such as 3SC, Kano Pillars, and Sharks of Port Harcourt in the Nigeria Professional Football League, which can be viewed on NTA.
Reno then presented alternative options for entertainment, emphasizing the availability of Nigerian-made movies and TV shows on platforms like Netflix and YouTube. He suggested that individuals could access these platforms with their data on their TVs, or opt for reading books as a means to expand their minds. Omokiri emphasized the importance of education, mentioning the government’s efforts in building schools for Nigerians.
In his words, “Will you die if you stop watching DSTV? Of course not. Is it, not the same DSTV that blocked you from watching Nwabali as he saved goals from South Africa during AFCON? If they could not block Nwabali’s saves, they can’t also block your destiny.
There are alternatives. You can stream Nigerian-made movies and TV shows on Netflix. You can even watch them for free on YouTube with your data on your TV. Or you can do what I do, read a book and expand your mind. That is why the government built schools for Nigerians (except for Peter Obi’s government). So we can read.
