World Cup qualifiers: Ronaldo reacts as Portugal beat Armenia 5-0

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed happiness after his team defeated Armenia 5-0 in a 2026 World Cup qualifying game on Saturday.

Joao Felix had given Portugal the lead in the 10th minute against Armenia, before Ronaldo doubled the lead eleven minutes later.

The Al-Nassar forward dedicated the goal to late Diogo Jota as he pointed towards the sky.

His team-mate, Joao Cancelo, then made it 3-0 for Portugal, with Ronaldo later adding another goal.

His Al-Nassr team-mate Felix also got his second of the game before the end of the match.

The World Cup qualifier was played at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium.

Reacting, Ronaldo, in a post via his X account after the game said: “First step taken.”

Portugal’s next World Cup qualifier is against Hungary on Tuesday.
