The leadership of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) has appreciated President Bola Tinubu for creating two ministries for the building sector.
NITP’s president Ogbonna Chime also commended the president for appointing one of their own, Ahmed Dangiwa to serve as the first-ever minister of Housing and Urban Development.
Describing the appointment as a smart move, Chime said appropriate appointments produce needed results.
He also said that the creation of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and the Ministry of Regional Development is a remarkable shift in urban and regional planning.
He also pledged to continue to break need grounds as the president of NITP whenever the opportunity calls.
He said, “We shall do this by upgrading the NITP advocacy for its early and full implementation, including encouraging the setting up of Urban and Regional Planning commissions and boards.”
