The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has disclosed that several opposition politicians have approached the party to work with it ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Naija News reports that this disclosure was made on Monday by the National Chairman of the PRP, Hakeem Baba Ahmed.
According to him, several politicians have reached out to the party in the last three to four weeks about joining the party.
Speaking on Arise News, Ahmed disclosed that the doors of the party are open to welcome interested persons and groups, including the African Democratic Coalition (ADC) leaders.
“In the last three or four weeks, you will be amazed at how many people have reached out to us and said, ‘We’re coming over to your party,’ and we say, Our doors are open” he said.
The former political adviser to President Bola Tinubu stated that if the Supreme Court rules and the ADC is unable to proceed as a party for the 2027 elections, the doors of the PRP are open to the coalition leaders.
Ahmed said the PRP is a viable platform for the 2027 elections and has been in existence for about 70 years.
He, however, added that those willing to join the party must be ready to abide by its own rules and must join before details of how they can work together are finalized.
Specifically, he submitted that President Tinubu can not win the 2027 election if the polls are free and fair.
