The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit has detained 27 suspected criminals in the Ikeja area of the state.
The Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Jubril Gawat, confirmed this in a post he shared on his X handle – @Mr_JAGs on Saturday.
Gawat said the agency raided some blackspots in Ikeja and apprehended the suspects.
He wrote: “In the early hours of today, the Lagos State Taskforce @Taskforce112 embarked on raid of some notable spots within Ikeja, where some undesirable elements have turned to a safe haven to perpetrate evil.
“They dispossess them of their personal belongings.”
He listed the raided blackspots to include Ayinke House, Ikeja under bridge and all around Ambiance Hotel.
“The 27 suspects will be charged to court immediately,” the governor’s aide added.
