Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has claimed that United States President Donald Trump praised First Lady Remi Tinubu because of the power of money.
Naija News reports that Tinubu had attended the US President’s National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC.
Trump had acknowledged her presence, describing her as a very respected woman.
Reacting, Sowore, in a post on his official handle, wondered why the same Trump, who recently slammed the Nigerian government over the claim of genocide against Christians, is now praising those in the government.
He argued that Trump has no faith in anything except for the power of money.
He wrote, “@RealDonaldTrump praising ‘singing’ Remi Tinubu at his Washington DC prayer breakfast is not faith, Trump has no faith in anything but the power of money
“Trump and his business neocons scream ‘Christian genocide!” for propaganda purposes, but the moment money changes hands, they suddenly become VIP guests receiving standing ovations.
“They weaponise religion when it helps them, then auction the same religion to the highest bidder”.
Remi Tinubu’s meeting with Trump came barely a month after Nigeria reportedly hired a US lobbying firm in a $9 million deal, aiming at shaping Washington’s understanding of Nigeria’s security response to violence against Christian communities. See More
