Aisha Achimugu Suffers Major Blow as Court Forfeits N4.6bn Jewellery to FG

A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court sitting in Apo has ordered the final forfeiture of N4.6 billion jewellery and 11 exotic cars worth N4.3 billion, as well as $50,000 and N30 million cash, linked to businesswoman Mrs Aisha Achimugu, to the Federal Government.

The court presided by Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the final forfeiture application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The judge dismissed Achimugu’s objections while granting the order.

Aisha Achimugu, who has been in a running battle with the EFCC, had lost $13 million to the Federal Government on March 25, 2026, when the Federal High Court ordered the final forfeiture of funds linked to her and her firm, Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd.

The court’s decision followed the anti-graft agency’s application for the assets to be permanently forfeited to the government.

The forfeited items comprise high-value personal effects and cash holdings linked to Achimugu, a businesswoman whose assets had earlier been the subject of legal proceedings.

Details of the judgment were contained in the court’s ruling delivered by Justice Onwugbuzie.
