Alison Hammond suffers humiliating rejection as star reveals ‘so embarrassing’ moment

Alison Hammond  was left red-faced after a ‘fit’ supermarket cashier turned her down. The This Morning host confessed to the embarrassing proposal mishap on Rob Beckett’s new Sky panel show, Smart TV, where she serves as team captain alongside Josh Widdecombe. Each week, they and their celebrity contestants discuss top telly picks and answer trivia questions.

Since joining the programme at the beginning of the month, Alison has shared a few cringe-worthy tales. However, the episode aired on Saturday night (April 13) might take the cake when she revealed a mortifying dating blunder that occurred in Boots. In honour of the leap year tradition, Rob asked his female panellists if they had ever proposed to their ex-partners. He asked: “Ladies would you ever propose? Traditionally, it’s normally the man who proposes to the woman. It’s the hit that most men get that they might get a no.”

The star was mortified by the embarrassing interaction

But she knows how to laugh it off…

It was then that Alison divulged her awkward dating faux pas. She admitted: “I’ve had a horrible no once, it’s so embarrassing.” While she clarified she’d never actually got down on one knee, she did share that she’d been rejected by a shop worker while grabbing a bite to eat.

The mum-of-one recounted her hilarious encounter: “I went into Boots right because I was really hungry. I was absolutely starving so I went and got this sandwich and some crisps. And I went up to pay for it and the most fittest guy was there. I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is it. This is the one I’m gonna marry’. I just knew it. I went, ‘I’ll have that crisps and that sandwich please’ and he was like, ‘Do you want to go for a drink? ‘ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m in! I’m in here.”

Alison cracks up as she shares her awkward dating mix-up – in Boots…

She was sure she’d scored a date and began planning their night out. Alison added: “So I said, ‘Yeah, I’d love to go for a drink with you’. And he went, ‘No, it’s a meal deal, go and get yourself a drink’.” The crowd erupted in laughter as Alison hung her head, embarrassed by the mix-up. This funny tale follows Alison’s risque comment after she saw her colleague’s catfish sex tape.

Comedian Joel Dommett fell prey to a catfish scam in 2013, resulting in an intimate video of him being leaked online. Joel, then in his 20s, thought he was engaging in Skype sex with a woman named Staci Taylor but was unknowingly recorded performing a solo sexual act at home. The release of the footage years later left him deeply embarrassed, according to the Daily Star.

Alison accidentally stumbled across her co-star’s catfish sex tape During a recent episode of the Sky panel show, Joel’s mate Rob couldn’t resist mentioning his infamous catfish tape. The Masked Singer host then shared how his colleague Alison Hammond had seen the footage and didn’t hesitate to message him her thoughts.

He admitted: “Alison was the only person who messaged me and went, ‘Seen it, you’re amazing!”
