It was reported that eight members of Boko Haram have been eliminated by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
Among the Boko Haram terrorists killed was a middle- ranking commander simply known as ” Kundu. ”
According to the information gathered, the incident took place on Thursday, September 15, amid a fierce battle that was taking place between the Dikwa and Bama Local Government Areas.
The report revealed that the clash also resulted in the injury of a significant number of combatants affiliated with both Jama’ at Ahl as- Sunnah lid- Da’ wah wa’ l- Jihad and ISWAP.
Zagazola Makama, who was one of the counterinsurgency experts and security analysts in Lake Chad, was quoted by an intelligence official that Kundu and his squad were on a robbery operation when they were confronted by the ISWAP with six motorcycles.
He said, ” a heavy fight ensued between the terrorists resulting in 8 casualties on the side of the Boko Haram terrorists, while few ISWAP terrorists were wounded.
” The surviving Boko Haram terrorists took to their heels, leaving their motorcycles to the ISWAP terrorists. ”
Similarly, troops from the Nigerian Army stormed a hideout used by ISWAP in the Lake Chad Basin, leading to the deaths of three commanders and a large number of other terrorists.
