[BREAKING] 2027: Radda Takes Major Step, Mobilises Katsina Residents for Tinubu’s Re-election

According to a report by The Nation on Thursday 29 October 2026; Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on residents of the state to rally behind President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Radda made the call on Thursday during the official flag-off of the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 campaign in Funtua, Katsina State, where supporters gathered to demonstrate their commitment to the ruling party.

The governor used the occasion to highlight his administration’s achievements and outline its priorities, particularly in security, infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic development.

He said his government had continued to work with security agencies, traditional rulers and the Federal Government to address insecurity and restore peace across the state.

According to Radda, security remains fundamental to development because farmers cannot work effectively, children cannot attend school regularly and businesses cannot thrive in an atmosphere of fear.

He pledged that his administration would sustain its efforts to improve security and enable residents to pursue their legitimate activities without intimidation.

The governor also pointed to investments in road construction, urban renewal and energy, noting that Funtua remained an important commercial hub for agricultural activities, trade and employment generation.

On economic empowerment, Radda said his administration was implementing programmes to support farmers, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, women and young people.

He explained that the initiatives were designed to encourage entrepreneurship, improve vocational skills and create an enabling environment for private-sector investment.

The governor further disclosed that his government was working to improve the quality of education, strengthen teachers’ welfare and expand access to primary healthcare services.

He added that efforts were also being made to increase health insurance coverage for vulnerable residents who might otherwise struggle to access medical services.

Radda commended Tinubu for the policies introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing his administration’s commitment to working with the Federal Government to achieve development objectives.

He urged Katsina residents to support the president’s re-election bid and give the APC another mandate in 2027.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, praised residents of Funtua Zone for turning out in large numbers for the campaign launch.

Dangiwa maintained that Tinubu was taking steps to reposition the national economy, while Radda was pursuing development programmes intended to improve the lives of residents at the state level.

He called on party members to intensify mobilisation efforts and strengthen the APC’s structures across Katsina ahead of the elections.

Similarly, the state APC chairman, Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described the campaign launch as an opportunity to consolidate the party’s support base and prepare its candidates for the electoral contest.

Saulawa presented party flags and banners to candidates seeking election to the three senatorial seats, 15 House of Representatives seats and 34 State House of Assembly seats in Katsina State.

He urged the candidates to prioritise the interests of the people, maintain party unity and remain committed to effective representation.

The campaign flag-off represents an early mobilisation effort by the Katsina APC leadership as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
