BREAKING: ADC Declares Readiness to Unseat ‘Declining’ APC, Says Atiku

A Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is ready to challenge and defeat the “failing” All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general election.

Naija News reports that Atiku made this known in a post on his handle after hosting the Adamawa ADC stakeholders at his Abuja residence.

Atiku described the visit as deeply touching, stressing that the ADC remains the only opposition force.

According to the former vice presidential candidate, the ADC is a party strong in both ideals and structure.

He wrote, “Yesterday evening, I received stakeholders of the Adamawa State chapter of the ADC at my Abuja residence, a visit that deeply touched me. I thanked them for the gesture and reminded the new state leadership that unity is now their sacred duty: to heal divisions, carry everyone along, and lead with fairness. I remain convinced that the ADC has risen as Nigeria’s true opposition force. One that is strong in ideals, structure, and resolve, and ready to challenge and defeat the failing APC in the elections ahead.”

Meanwhile, the Presidency has taken a swipe at leading opposition figures, including Atiku, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, claiming that the ADC is embroiled in a deepening internal crisis.

The criticism was made by the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Onanuga, in a post on , said the situation within the African Democratic Congress had worsened following fresh criticism of its national convention.

He referenced remarks by Nafiu Bala, who had described the convention led by David Mark as illegal.

According to him, the development further undermines the credibility of the exercise and highlights the leadership crisis within the party.

Reacting to the situation, Onanuga said the party’s internal disputes had escalated.
