BREAKING: Bauchi Govt Deploys Task Force Over Insecurity In Alkaleri

Bauchi State government has launched a joint-security strategy to address insecurity in Gwana District of Alkaleri local government area of the state.
At a security meeting held yesterday at the District Head’s Palace in Gwana, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
LEADERSHIP Weekend learned that this move followed the killing of over 10 hunters by armed bandits in Mansur Forest in the Duguri/Gwana axis in the early hours of Sunday while they were on a routine patrol along the Duguri–Mansur–Dajin Mada forest corridor.
Galadima announced the formation of a Joint Security Force comprising the Nigeria Police (Bauchi Command), the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Bauchi State Vigilante Service, and other key security agencies.
The task force is to work collaboratively to ensure the protection of residents and to flush out criminal elements from Alkaleri and other affected communities.
He noted that the move was a holistic, innovation-driven approach to counter rising security threats and promote lasting peace in the region.
He also said that the Governor Bala Mohammed-led administration remains dedicated to working in synergy with security agencies to address the complex security challenges across Bauchi State.
The chairman of Alkaleri local government area, Hon. Garba Hassan Bajama, stressed that security is a collective responsibility and urged all residents to actively support ongoing government efforts.
He called on traditional and religious leaders as well as community members in Gwana District to fully cooperate with security personnel in the area.
The District Head of Gwana/Sardaunan Bauchi, Alhaji Ahmed Sani Jumba, expressed appreciation for the government’s multi-pronged approach to curb criminal activities.
He described the recent wave of insecurity as a serious threat to the state’s development and pledged the full support of the Gwana community in achieving the government’s peace and security objectives.
