BREAKING: Beware of governors plotting your downfall ahead of 2027

The Apex Igbo Sociocultural Organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has raised an alarm over an alleged political conspiracy aimed at derailing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The group claims the plot is being orchestrated by a coalition of influential figures, including two former Presidents, past military Heads of State, opposition elites, and disenchanted factions within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement signed by the Deputy President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze warned that “these forces are exploiting Nigeria’s economic challenges, insecurity, and the perceived insensitivity of the Federal Government to incite unrest and destabilize the administration.”

Of particular concern, Ohanaeze alleged that Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara and four Southeast Governors have aligned themselves with this conspiracy.

The group accused them of attempting to undermine the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, within his home state of Rivers, while also plotting to destabilize the Igbo leadership structure.

“We assert that these governors harbour ulterior motives to draft disillusioned Nigerians—especially the Igbo populace—into their planned political revolutionary movements as we approach the 2025 and 2026 political build-ups leading to the 2027 presidential election.

“Their schemes are evidently designed to cultivate a narrative of dissent that vilifies President Tinubu while positioning themselves as agents of change, cloaked in the guise of concern for the nation’s welfare.

“The desperation exhibited by these governors serves a dual purpose: first, to compel President Tinubu to concede to their political demands, thereby jeopardizing his invaluable relationships with influential allies in the South-South and Southeast regions, including the FCT Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, and other key ministers under his administration.

“Second, they aim to utilize Ohanaeze Ndigbo as a vehicle to galvanize the Igbo Nation in a concerning alliance with Northern political establishments designed to unseat President Tinubu,” the statement read.

Ohanaeze also accused Governor Hope Uzodimma of aligning with opposition forces and recalling his past actions, including his support for former Senate President Ahmad Lawan during the APC primaries.

The group warned that the coalition, allegedly supported by certain global powers, seeks to create a formidable alliance with Northern political establishments and major ethnic organizations to unseat President Tinubu.

Ohanaeze urged President Tinubu to take decisive action to address the economic and security challenges that the groups intend to exploit.

“In conclusion, Ohanaeze Ndigbo reiterates that both President Tinubu and FCT Minister Barr Nyesom Wike stand as the primary targets in this egregious plot, aimed at hijacking the Ohanaeze Ndigbo platform for the impending 2027 presidential election.

“We implore all members of our esteemed Igbo community, as well as all patriotic Nigerians, to unite against these divisive political machinations that threaten our democratic principles and collective future. The time for action is now—together, we must defend our legacy, our rights, and our place in nationhood,” the statement concluded.
