BREAKING: Former NASENI EVC, Gwandu Loses His Mother

Dr. Bashir Gwandu, the former Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), is mourning the passing of his mother, Hajiya Aisha Gwandu, who succumbed to a brief illness on Tuesday afternoon in Kebbi State.

Dr. Gwandu, who also served as a former Executive Commissioner and acting EVC of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), confirmed the sad news. In a statement, he expressed, “I have just received the news of the passing of my mother and I pray that Allah would forgive her and grant her Al-Jannah Firdauss.”

Hajiya Gwandu passed away at a hospital in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State. She leaves behind a legacy of love and care, survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Notable among her surviving children are Engr. Umar Gwandu, Technical Adviser to the Minister of Petroleum, and Dr. Jibril Gwandu, Project Manager at Kebbi Health Project.

A prayer (Janaiza) for the late matriarch will be held this morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Emir’s palace in Birnin Kebbi, followed by interment at the cemetery.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Gwandu family during this difficult time. May Allah SWT forgive her and grant her Jannatul Firdausi. Ameen,” stated a representative close to the family.
