BREAKING: Former Zamfara Council Chairman Sharu Anka Defects from APC to ADC

A former Chairman of Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Alhaji Sharu Anka, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing alleged injustice and disunity within the ruling party.

Anka announced his decision in a resignation letter made public on Tuesday, stating that unresolved internal crises and what he described as a lack of fairness within the APC influenced his departure.

According to the former council chairman, persistent inequalities and poor internal management of party affairs made it difficult for him to remain a member of the party. How to make a woman wet instantly – Watch full video

“Let me formally announce that I was forced to leave the APC by the high rate of injustice, denials of equal opportunity and indisputable lack of unity and understanding, especially in the system of running the affairs of the party,” he said.

Anka further accused certain groups within the APC of sidelining loyal party members while concentrating influence in the hands of a select few. He alleged that contributions made by many members were often ignored, adding that internal party operations had increasingly become dominated by a small circle of individuals.

“There is total neglect and failure to recognise contributions given by the party members, and some cliques in the APC have turned the party into an unbearable style of family and friends’ affairs,” he added.

The former local government chairman disclosed that a large number of his political associates and supporters across Zamfara State had also joined the ADC alongside him.

Anka is a prominent grassroots politician in Zamfara State, having served two terms as Chairman of Anka Local Government Area. He also held commissioner positions on four occasions, overseeing different ministries under successive administrations in the state.

His defection adds to the growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, as parties continue efforts to strengthen their support bases across the country.
