Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has issued a strong warning against any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 general elections, declaring that any effort to subvert the will of the people would be firmly resisted.
Kwankwaso made the statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account while also welcoming Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former Kano Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) family.

According to him, Gawuna’s defection represents a major political shift that signals the beginning of a broader realignment ahead of future elections.
“We proudly welcomed Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former Kano Deputy Governor and APC gubernatorial candidate, into the ADC family,” Kwankwaso stated.
Describing the development as significant, he added: “Speaking before a massive crowd at his Gawuna Ward, I described his defection as a monumental and inspiring development — one that signals the beginning of a larger movement as more prominent figures join our cause.”
However, the former presidential candidate used the opportunity to caution against any alleged plans to distort the democratic process.
