Renowned Nollywood actor Asa Koko has passed away at the age of 75 after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness.
The sad news was announced by fellow actor Kunle Afod, who shared a clip from a past interview with Asa Koko on Instagram. In his post, Afod expressed his condolences, writing, “May his soul rest in peace. Asa Koko. Hmmmm. It’s a WRAP.”
Asa Koko had previously opened up about his health struggles, revealing that his illness affected both his feet and arms, leading to a two-month hospitalization.
“I spent some months at the hospital. I had an injury here on my leg. From my shin down down to the feet. Even the governor came to greet me at the hospital, telling the medicals not to amputate the leg. My palm skins and feet were peeling another one grew,” he said in the interview.
“I still feel pain from my left ankle down to the feet.”
Asa Koko was a prolific actor in Yoruba movies, known for his talent and dedication to his craft. He had a long and distinguished career, entertaining audiences with his performances.
Asa Koko’s personal life was also notable. He had married multiple wives, which he attributed to his traveling theatre career.
