BREAKING: PTAD reiterates commitment to implementing N32,000 pension increment

The Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Tolulope Odunaiya, has reiterated the Directorate’s commitment to implementing the approved N32,000 pension increment for pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).

This is contained in a statement by PTAD Head, Corporate Communications, Mr Olugbenga Ajayi, in Abuja on Tuesday.

Ajayi quoted Odunaiya as saying that, once the budgetary provisions for 2025 were released, it would be implemented.

Odunaiya explained that the January pension payments did not include the N32, 000 increments, because the budgetary provisions had not been released.

He said that PTAD was working assiduously with relevant agencies of government, to ensure that the increment was fully implemented and arrears paid as soon as possible.

Accordig to him, PTAD has paid four months arrears of August to November 2024, to Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD) pensioners.

”We have also paid five months arrears of August to December 2024, to pensioners of Customs Immigration and Prison Pension Department (CIPPD).

”Same with the Police Pension Department (PPD) and the university sector of Parastatals Pension Department (PaPD) through strategic funds management.”

He said that the directorate through this strategic funds management initiative had earlier defrayed in full the 20 and 28 per cent pension increment arrears to all pensioners.

The PTAD boss promised that the directorate would continue to prioritise pensioners’ needs at all time.
