A Chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Chief Asukewe Ikoawaji, has said that the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, does not need to talk about the Rainbow Coalition if APC has done well, but he is crying for a coalition because APC has not done well.
Speaking in an interview with Arise News, Ikoawaji made this statement when asked about his reaction to Wike’s unveiling of 49 Rainbow Coalition candidates in Rivers State and how NDC is taking it and whether it could threaten the party’s chances in the 2027 election.

He said the APC government, if you pick their words one after the other, it becomes so clear that they have failed Nigerians. He said President Bola Tinubu himself needs a coalition, and that is why he is going for a coalition.
Ikoawaji said Nigerians are convinced that APC, by the words of the president telling Nigerians he feels their pains, has admitted they have failed Nigerians.
He said because they have done all this and feel Nigerians have come to know, they start talking about coalition, noting that if the president has done well, if APC governors have done well, and if Wike has done well, nobody will be talking about coalition.
He said you do not need to tell somebody to tell you thank you if you have given a person food, but APC and Wike know they have not done well; that’s why they are talking about a coalition.
He asserted that very soon, so many secrets will be made known to the public, noting that Nigerians have been deceived enough and are not ready to be deceived again.
In his words, “Nyesom Wike does not need to talk about coalition if APC has done well. He’s crying for a coalition because the APC has not done well. I’m not interested. My interest is the rescuing of Nigeria.”
