The Super Eagles of Nigeria camp in Antalya, Turkey, is gathering pace, with 22 players now on the ground ahead of upcoming friendlies against Iran and Jordan.
Defender Calvin Bassey has, however, withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad after suffering a back injury, forcing a late adjustment for the technical crew.
Naija News reports that preparations began on Tuesday, March 24, at the Bellis Deluxe Hotel, with an initial batch of 15 players reporting for duty. Winger Samuel Chukwueze and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye arrived later that night to boost the numbers.
More reinforcements followed on Wednesday morning as Ademola Lookman, Igoh Ogbu, Raphael Onyedika, Akor Adams and Zaidu Sanusi checked into camp.
Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who captains the side, has also linked up with the squad as training intensifies.
The coaching crew led by Éric Chelle is expected to take charge of the team’s first full training session later today, with momentum building ahead of the fixtures.
Among those already in camp are Alex Iwobi, Paul Onuachu, Moses Simon, Francis Uzoho, Frank Onyeka, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, Adebayo Adeleye, Chidera Ejuke and Philip Otele.
Nigeria will face Iran at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 27, before taking on Jordan next Tuesday as the three-time African champions fine-tune preparations for 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
