Doma Attack: Bandits Kill Three Security Operatives Amid Rising Insecurity

No fewer than three security operatives were reportedly shot dead on Wednesday, November 12, by suspected bandits in Idadu, Agbashi Development Area of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Naija News understands that the victims were a police officer attached to the Agbashi Police Division and two vigilante members who were carrying out a joint patrol when they were ambushed.

According to Vanguard, community sources disclosed that the operatives were on routine patrol along the Doma–Idadu Road when the gunmen suddenly opened fire on them.

The source said the attackers operated with “commando-style precision,” shooting at their victims without provocation or any attempt at negotiation.

The incident adds to the escalating wave of violence in the area, as no fewer than seven persons have been killed in neighbouring Keana and Doma communities within the past week.

The bandits, said to be heavily armed, have continued to terrorise residents across the region in repeated attacks.

The killings come despite recent assurances by the Nasarawa State Government that it has intensified security operations to curb the renewed wave of attacks.

However, residents say no suspect has been arrested since the killings began, sparking widespread fear and frustration.

Local communities have continued to cry out over the spate of violence, urging both the Federal Government and the international community to intervene.

Residents say the persistent attacks, coupled with the lack of arrests, are signs of a worsening security situation requiring urgent and decisive action.

However, security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the latest killing at the time of filing this report.
