The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged his supporters to remain calm amidst the fresh political developments in the state.
Speaking on Thursday during the New Year banquet held at the government house in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara said it is Dogs that don’t understand what is going on in the house that bark.
According to him, he is sure things would work out in his favour and the journey would be smooth.
The Governor assured his supporters that everything is in place to ensure he wins the election for a second term.
He said, “Don’t be disturbed by what is happening. Caesar in one of his quotes said, the only reason the dog barks is when it doesn’t understand.
“If you have a dog in your house and it knows you, does it need to bark? So when the dog starts backing maybe it is seeing something it doesn’t understand.
“We are not barking because we understand. We know where we are going and we have set all the things that are needed to make the journey smooth”.
Naija News reports that the recent statement comes amidst fresh tensions between Fubara and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Wike had recently submitted that the leadership mistake in Rivers State would be corrected in the 2027 election.
