A newly married man from has been abducted by gunmen just days after his wedding ceremony.
The victim was traveling from Inye in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State to Abuja with his wife and a friend when the incident occurred.
Findings revealed that the abduction took place on January 1, 2026, near Kotonkarfi, a community along the Abuja–Lokoja highway that has witnessed repeated cases of violent attacks and kidnappings.
Sources disclosed that the assailants intercepted the vehicle conveying the couple and their companion and forced it to stop. During the attack, the man was taken away by the terrorists, while his wife and the accompanying friend escaped and subsequently alerted others.
The abducted man was said to have married on December 29, 2025, and was heading to Abuja with his wife shortly after the wedding when the incident happened.
As of the time this report was filed, there was no official response from the police or other security agencies concerning the abduction. It also remains uncertain whether the kidnappers have reached out to the victim’s family to demand ransom.
