Peter Obi and his campaign team were attacked in Katsina, Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has described how his campaign staff was attacked in Katsina State.
On Monday, Obi’s squad, which had been travelling from state to state, arrived in Katsina.
If elected, the presidential candidate promised to combat insecurity in an effort to win over voters.
The attack on Obi and his campaign staff is deplorable, according to a statement made on his behalf by Diran Onifade, Head of Media for the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Council.
He claims that when the two incidents are considered together, the team is led to believe that the attacks may have been planned at the direction of desperate politicians who had been fooling themselves into thinking they controlled the northwest but are now shocked by the “Obidient movement’s” use of force in the area.
He praised Katsina residents for turning out in large numbers to support their campaign on Monday and encouraged security agencies to look into the attacks to prevent similar incidents in the future.
