Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has shared details about his personal living arrangement, revealing that he stays in a modest one-bedroom apartment despite owning a larger house in Onitsha.
Naija News reports that Obi made the disclosure in a during a home tour with Advocacy For Good Governance, where he explained that the large house was built mainly to suit the preference of his wife, Margaret Obi.
According to him, when plans for the family home were being discussed, he preferred a smaller residence, while his wife wanted a much bigger building.
To settle the matter, they agreed that a separate one-bedroom apartment with a sitting room would be included for his personal use.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate said the apartment serves as his main living space and contains all the belongings he needs.
He said: “I said why don’t we just build a small house, she said no she wants a very big house. I said fine, as long as we are going to have an agreement that you will build a big house but you are going to build one room and parlour for me. So this is where I live, everything I have is here. My wife lives in the big house, when she comes back I go there and sleep because she is there. If she is not around I don’t even enter there or go near there”
