Shocking Showdown! Tinubu Holds Secret Talks with FIRS Boss Adedeji Amid Controversial Abuja Office Sealing

President Bola Tinubu Holds Emergency Discussion with FIRS Chairman Amid Office Closure CrisisIn a swift response to ongoing tensions, President Bola Tinubu convened an urgent meeting with Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), at the State House in Abuja today. The consultation follows the recent sealing of a key FIRS office by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), triggering political uproar.
The controversy erupted hours earlier when FCT Minister Nyesom Wike ordered the shutdown of two FIRS offices over allegations of unpaid ground rent spanning 25 years. The FIRS authorities condemned the move as “malicious” and “unprofessional,” asserting that the properties are managed by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
Also present at the Villa were top government officials including the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Dele Alake; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; and Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, who held private talks with the President separately.
In addition, President Tinubu met with Mark Okoye II, Managing Director of the South East Development Commission (SEDC). Okoye shared ambitious plans to elevate the Southeast region’s economy to $200 billion by 2035, aligning with the President’s broader goal of a $1 trillion GDP.
The unfolding events signal a critical phase in Tinubu’s administration as it navigates complex financial and political challenges. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
