Former Edo State Governor and Senator Adams Oshiomhole has said Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma should not be seen as the only person responsible for promoting President Bola Tinubu and his administration among people in the South-East.
Naija News reports that Oshiomhole made the clarification during an interview on TVC on Sunday, August 23, 2026, while speaking about political developments and efforts to improve the relationship between the Federal Government and the South-East.
The senator explained that Uzodinma’s appointment as secretary in Tinubu’s campaign council should not be taken to mean that the Imo governor had been given the sole duty of explaining Tinubu’s policies, programmes and achievements to the Igbo people.
He said political leaders across the South-East have responsibilities in communicating with their people and helping them understand the direction of the Federal Government.
According to Oshiomhole, the task should involve the governors and other political leaders in the region rather than being left for Uzodinma alone because of his position.
He said: “Please note, the fact that Hope Uzodimma is the secretary doesn’t mean he will be the one marketing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Igbo nation. I believe that every other governor in the South-East” also has a role to play.”
