Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdul’Aziz Yari, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to retain power beyond the 2027 general elections.
Naija News reports that Yari, who has been appointed Director-General of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign organization for the 2027 presidential election, made the statement on Sunday after returning from an overseas trip.
He was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by supporters and members of the APC who gathered to welcome him back to the country.
The former governor said Tinubu’s administration had made progress during its time in office and expressed confidence that the president would secure another term in 2027.
According to Yari, the APC would continue to rely on its promises to Nigerians and work towards delivering the commitments made during the 2023 election campaign.
He said: “I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during campaign, we shall keep to our promises. Today, we have seen him [Bola Ahmed Tinubu] as president today, and by God’s grace, he shall be the president come 2027. The crowd are here to pray for me and for the success of Mr. President.
“Our party is synonymous for keeping to our words. We pray that Almighty Allah will give him [the President] the wisdom to lead this country. We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfill all our campaign promises. We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term in 2031.”
