Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother, revealing that she passed away after a long battle with illness.
The actress shared the sad news on Monday through her official Instagram page, posting pictures of her late mother alongside an emotional tribute.
In her message, Adunni Ade expressed her grief while submitting to the will of Almighty Allah and praying for the peaceful repose of her mother’s soul.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness,” she wrote.
The actress also acknowledged the family members and loved ones mourning the deceased, noting that her mother left behind children, grandchildren, sisters and other relatives who would continue to cherish her memory.
Praying for her late mother, Adunni Ade asked Allah to forgive her shortcomings, show her mercy, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus.
She also prayed for strength and patience for the family as they navigate the painful loss.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” the actress added.
Adunni Ade disclosed that details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.

Following the announcement, colleagues, fans and friends in the entertainment industry have sent condolence messages to the actress and her family.
Actor Yemi Solade expressed his sympathy, praying for the acceptance of her mother’s soul and offering words of comfort to the grieving actress.
“Accept sincere condolences from me….May the soul of your mother be accepted by her creator and rest it in eternal peace. Amen. Take heart, ADUNNIADE,” he wrote.
Actress Sophie Alakija also sympathised with Adunni Ade, writing, “So sorry for your loss, mama.”
Other celebrities, including Eso Dike, Damilola Oni, Rotimi Salami and Linda Osifo, also joined in expressing their condolences and praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
