The family of the Michigan mother and six children killed in a murder-suicide announced they will be holding a public memorial service.
Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz, 39, and her six children were found dead in their home on July 24.
Police said Mandy Karolkiewicz’s husband, Kristopher “Kris” Karolkiewicz, shot and killed her and her six children before taking his own life.
Their children were four boys, ages 15, 12, 11, and 5, and two girls, both 11.
On Aug. 4, the family of Mandy Karolkiewicz and her children announced there will be a memorial service open to the public, and they are welcoming anyone who wishes to attend.
“Mandy and her children had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged,” said family spokesperson Emily Jones, “and we want this service to reflect that. Whether you knew them for years or only knew them from afar, you’re welcome to join us, in person or online.”
The public memorial service will be held at Harvest Vertical Church, Grand Haven Campus, at 12900 US-31 in Grand Haven on Monday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m.
The family asks that no photos, audio or video be taken anywhere on the church grounds during the service, including the parking lot and as guests arrive.
A livestream of the service will also be available for those unable to attend in person. The livestream will be posted on page one of Systema Funeral Services Upcoming Services page before the ceremony.
