NNPCL Reduces Petrol Price to N1,325 Per Litre in Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced its petrol pump price to N1,325 per litre at its retail outlets in Abuja and neighbouring areas.

A market survey conducted by DAILY POST on Wednesday showed that NNPCL filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its environs had adjusted their petrol prices downward from between N1,370 and N1,405 per litre to N1,325 per litre.

The latest adjustment represents a reduction of between N45 and N80 per litre, offering some relief to motorists amid fluctuating petrol prices across the country.

The new price has already been implemented at NNPCL retail outlets in Gwarimpa and along the Kubwa Expressway in Abuja.

A fuel attendant at one of the company’s filling stations in Abuja confirmed the development to DAILY POST on condition of anonymity.

“The fuel price was adjusted downward this afternoon,” she said.

The reduction comes barely two days after DAILY POST reported that filling stations across Nigeria, including NNPCL outlets, were expected to lower their petrol prices following a fresh reduction in the gantry price by the Dangote Refinery.

The refinery had reduced its petrol gantry price to N1,215 per litre, a development expected to influence retail petrol prices across the downstream petroleum market.

The latest move by NNPCL signals the impact of the refinery’s price adjustment on the retail market, although pump prices may continue to vary across locations and filling station operators.

Motorists in Abuja will now pay N1,325 per litre for petrol at the affected NNPCL outlets, compared with the previous prices of between N1,370 and N1,405 per litre.
