Naija News reports that following his appearance before a Kaduna State High Court for the hearing of his bail application, the matter was adjourned to Tuesday, 21st April, 2026.
The former Governor was in court for the hearing of his bail application over a nine-count charge filed against him by the ICPC over allegations bordering on fraud and abuse of office.
Proceedings on Tuesday were held behind closed doors as journalists were barred from entering the courtroom during the session.
Recall that the ICPC on Monday, amended the corruption charges filed against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, at the Kaduna State High Court.
The amendment led to the removal of the second defendant, Amadu Suleiman, Managing Director of TMDK Terminal Limited, from the case.
In a statement issued on Monday, the ICPC said its counsel, Osuobeni Akponimisingha, informed the court that the initial joint charge had been amended due to Suleiman’s continued absence, who was reportedly unavailable on medical grounds.
The court subsequently granted the application, allowing the prosecution to proceed with the case against El-Rufai alone.
