President Bola Tinubu’s camp has adopted the slogan “We Are MAD” as part of efforts to rally support for his expected re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
The slogan was publicised by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who shared a campaign-style poster on X on Sunday. The graphic gives the word “MAD” a new meaning: “Motivated, Assured, Determined.”
The move appears to turn a remark associated with former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi into a political message for Tinubu’s supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.
Onanuga Responds to Amaechi’s Remark
Onanuga accompanied the poster with a direct reference to Amaechi, writing: “Rotimi Amaechi: Yes, we, the followers and supporters of President Tinubu, are truly MAD. Read why we are.”
Rather than reject the description associated with Amaechi’s remarks about Tinubu’s supporters, the president’s camp has embraced the word and attached a different meaning to it.
