[BREAKING] LIV VS CHE: Chelsea Confirmed Team News And Best Possible Starting Line-up Against Liverpool

Chelsea will be missing Joao Pedro in their Carabao Cup clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday after the Brazilian striker suffered a thigh injury and will be sidelined for several weeks, a report by the London Evening Standard said on Tuesday October 27, 2026. The Blues will be missing their attacking talisman from their game against Tottenham this weekend, but will miss him going forward. Xabi Alonso confirmed that Pedro will be out for several weeks. He added that it is difficult to say how long the Spaniard will be out for.

Alonso tried to play Morgan Rogers as his main attacking threat against Tottenham, but it did not go as planned. The Englishman will return to his usual attacking midfielder role.

Danny Welbeck and Estevao are both fit and have been confirmed in the squad by Alonso. They can both start.

Goalkeeper Mike Penders is likely to keep his spot in the side despite his costly error against Tottenham. Alonso is still backing the young keeper. Emi Martinez is still injured.

Moises Caicedo should start in the middle of the park. Romeo Lavia is likely to come in for Jordan Henderson. The veteran could get the chance to rest after playing the full 90 minutes in the last three games.

Pep Chavarria’s injury uncertainty means Malo Gusto and Marco Palestra are likely to start at wing-back. Wesley Fofana is also likely to start after being rested by Alonso.

Emmanuel Emegha has been named in the squad, but is unlikely to start. He may have to wait even longer for his debut. Reece James is still injured from his knee surgery. Jamie Gittens is close to returning.

The Blues will need to rotate their squad ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester United on Saturday. However, Alonso is likely to name an aggressive side.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Penders; Acheampong, Colwill, Fofana; Gusto, Lavia, Caicedo, Palestra; Rogers, Estevao; Welbeck.

Doubtful: Pep Chavarria.

Injured: Joao Pedro, Reece James, Emi Martinez and Jamie Gittens.
