Address challenges facing workers in Kogi – NLC tasks Gov elect, Ododo

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has charged the Governor-elect of Kogi State, Usman Ahmed Ododo to address challenges bedevilling Workers in the state.

The Kogi State NLC Chairman, Comrade Gabriel Amari gave the charge in a statement on Tuesday while felicitating the Governor-elect over his victory at the just concluded Kogi State Governorship election.

Amari, who noted that the union is looking forward to a robust relationship with the incoming administration, said the Governor-elect should address the area of worker’s welfare visa-vis salaries and emoluments.

The NLC Chairman said the support received from workers during last Saturday’s gubernatorial election was with the hope of addressing their pains down to the local government areas.

“The emergence of Ododo signals the dawn of a new development in the history of Kogi State. As a Labour movement representing the interest of workers, we are assuring the incoming administration of our 100 percent support to achieve the Kogi State of our dream.

“On this note, we are appealing to the Governor-elect, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo to address the challenges workers are facing in Kogi State ranging from welfare, vis-a-vis salaries and emoluments. Workers have a renewed hope that the challenges NLC mentioned earlier will be nipped in the bud. NLC will keep praying for wisdom from God for the incoming administration in Kogi State to succeed” the statement added.

While extending the felicitation to the Deputy Governor-Elect, Comrade Joel Oyibo on their victory at the poll, Amari urged him to work genuinely with his Boss for a new Kogi State for Civil Servants and for all.
