Anyanwu Returns As PDP National Secretary After Defeat In Imo Guber Election

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 11 election in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has arrived at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

Akelicious reports that Anyanwu arrived at the party secretariat around 12:10 p.m. to resume his duty as the National Secretary of the PDP, days after participation in the Imo governorship election.

Following his arrival in his office, Anyanwu was welcomed by the staff of the National Secretariat of the major opposition party.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday, declared Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the Imo State governorship election.

The Returning Officer for the state election, Professor Abayomi Fashina, said Uzodimma defeated his opponents in all Local Government Areas of the State, gathering a higher number of votes ahead of his PDP’s candidate, Anyanwu and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP).

Fashina stated that Uzodimma polled a total of 540,308 votes, while Anyanwu scored 71,503 votes, and Achonu garnered 64,081 votes.
