Major Abubakar Muhammad, a security expert, has stated that any bandit found should be put to death right away. He stated that he does not believe that bandits should be pardoned because, in the end, when they are, they frequently return to kidnapping.
Muhammad stated that there is no use in dealing with bandits who kidnap people and even kill the victims after a ransom has been paid in an interview with Leadership News on Saturday.
Speaking further, he said that bandits can never repent because they have some powerful people that are behind them, so they should be executed once they are caught.
He said, “President Tinubu is right, he should not negotiate with the bandits or terrorists. My advice is that those caught, either bandits or kidnappers, they should be executed immediately.
“There is no need to negotiate with such people who kill their victims most times even after ransom had been paid. When they are caught they are forgiven at the end, and they return back to their kidnapping activities.
“Kidnappers or bandits can never repent, they will always come back because there are people behind them. Negotiation with bandits is never an option. They should be executed when caught.”
Following the abduction of students from the LEA Primary and Junior Secondary School, Kuriga, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had urged the security operatives to ensure that every child is rescued from the bandits, and had warned that no ransom should be paid to the kidnappers.
