[BREAKING] 2027: Obi Promises 10,000MW Electricity If Elected President

The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has promised to generate, transmit and distribute at least 10,000 megawatts of electricity if elected president in 2027.

Obi made the pledge during a town hall meeting in Enugu, where he outlined plans to tackle insecurity, corruption, unemployment and other challenges facing the country.

The former Anambra State governor said Nigeria needed leadership with the competence, capacity and commitment to address its economic and security problems.

He described the country’s situation as troubling, citing hunger, unemployment and insecurity among the major challenges confronting Nigerians.

“Today, our country is suffering. Today, people are hungry. Today, our children do not have employment. Today, Nigeria is not secure,” Obi said.

He pledged to unite the country and improve security, insisting that his administration would take decisive action against criminal elements.

“As president of Nigeria, I will unite Nigeria. As president of Nigeria, I will secure Nigeria. We will deal with security,” he declared.

On corruption, Obi promised to ensure that public funds were used for the benefit of citizens, with greater transparency in government spending and borrowing.

“People must stop stealing public money. Public money must be used for public good. That is why I am making my commitment. We will be accountable, we will be open,” he said.

The NDC candidate also promised to declare emergencies in education and the fight against corruption. He said his administration would work to ensure that children had access to education and that every ward across the country had primary healthcare services.

Obi identified electricity as a major priority, arguing that reliable power supply was necessary to revive industries, create employment and stimulate economic activities.

“As I promised, we will generate, transmit and distribute at least 10,000 megawatts of electricity, because we want industrial work,” he said.

He urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the country, presenting the 2027 presidential election as an opportunity to address the challenges facing the nation.
