A yet-to-be-identified middle-aged pregnant housewife in Ebonyi State, on Tuesday, pushed her husband, Mr. Nwoga Maduabuchi, to death from a two-storey building.
The victim, a resident of Akparata village, Igbeagu community in the Izzi Local Government Area of the state married the suspect as his second wife from Uburu community in the Ohaozara Local Government Area.
The duo resided in Abakaliki, the state capital.
A security officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said the fatal altercation arose from a family dispute between the victim and his second wife, The PUNCH reports.
“The man is just a victim of domestic violence,” the source lamented. “It’s a family matter, but the second wife became so enraged that she pushed her husband down from the two-storey building. That’s the height of wickedness.”
Another undisclosed source revealed that the suspect, heavily pregnant at the time, frequently quarrelled with her late husband, often over trivial issues.
Describing the situation as horrible, a community member named Ogo Mike disclosed that the victim was an elder brother to his friend.
Upon contacting the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ukandu Joshua of the Ebonyi State Police Command, for confirmation, it was revealed that the incident had not yet been reported to the authorities. DSP Joshua expressed ignorance regarding the location of the incident in Abakaliki, hindering efforts to ascertain the details surrounding the tragedy.
