BREAKING: Ex CBN Deputy Gov, Moghalu Responded Following Tinubu Govt Suspended The Enforcement Of Expatriate Levy

Professor Kingsley Moghalu, a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has responded to reports that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended the implementation of the newly passed Expatriate Employment Levy.

Professor Moghalu responded by stating that the Nigerian government’s decision to suspend the Expatriate Employment Levy is further evidence of the point he made earlier this week regarding ad hoc methods to policy making in his Leadership Conference and Awards Keynote Speech. He continued by emphasizing the need to address the nation’s issues.

In response to the report, Professor Moghalu disclosed this information in a post on his official X Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

He wrote: “The suspension by @NigeriaGov of the ‘Expatriate Levy’ it recently imposed is yet another indication of the point I made in my @LeadershipNGA 2024 Conference & Awards Keynote Speech earlier this week about ad-Hoc approaches to policy making. This problem must be fixed.”

It should be recalled that it was recently reported that the Nigerian Association of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture, disclosed that the Bola Tinubu’s led federal government agreed to suspend the enforcement of the recently enacted Expatriate Employment Levy.
