BREAKING: Niger to recruit 1,000 health workers

Niger State Government has announced the commencement of a recruitment campaign aimed at hiring 1,000 health workers, comprising doctors, nurses, and various other healthcare professionals.

This move is intended to bolster the workforce within hospitals and Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the state.

Dr Ibrahim Dangana, the Commissioner for Primary Healthcare, revealed this development on Tuesday during the launch of the National Immunisation Plus Days (NIPDs) at the Emir’s palace in Minna.

Alongside the immunisation programme, the event also saw the distribution of mama kits, ready-to-use therapeutic food items, and motorcycles to immunisation facilitators.

Dr Dangana further stated that the governor has directed the removal of the embargo on healthcare worker recruitment, which was imposed by the previous administration.

Additionally, the government is actively enhancing policies related to staff promotion, study leave, and the welfare of healthcare workers to create a conducive environment for them to remain in the state.
