BREAKING: (Ningi) ‘If The IGP Decides To Do Nothing, I Will File A Motion For Mandamus’

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, an APC senator from Ondo State, has stated categorically that Senator Abdul Ningi ought to be prosecuted for acts of criminal negligence and spreading false information, which are actions that could jeopardize national security.

He said, should the Senate and the President fail to act to address the situation. He explained his intention to write a letter addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP). He stated that he plans to take the situation to the next level by submitting a mandamus motion against Senator Ningi in the event that the IGP does not reply. He expressed an unwavering will to bring these two charges.

Senator Abdul Ningi who alleged that 3.7 trillion naira can’t be traced in the 2024 budget. He stated that even as it feels he’s compelled to clarify his statement in an interview with BBC, he noted that he wasn’t speaking for the Northern senators forum. He identified that he’s not scared of being suspended. He however insisted that the remaining 3.7 trillion naira in the budget cannot be verified.

He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”Senator Ningi should be charged for criminal negligence and misinformation that could likely breach national peace. So these two charges must come. Let me tell you, it’s not about anybody. If the President of the Senate decides to do nothing. No problem. I will send my letter to the IGP. If the IGP decides to do nothing, I will file a motion for mandamus, compelling a public officer to perform that job that had to do with this. These charges will happen whether you like it or not.”
