Buhari takes Tinubu around on familiarization tour to Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari gave President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu a tour of the State House offices on Friday in preparation for the May 29 inauguration.

At at 1:18 pm, Buhari and Tinubu made their way to the Press Gallery after attending the Friday Jummat prayers at the Aso Villa Mosque.

The President took the incoming President on a tour of the President wing of the State House with the assistance of the highest ranking officials there, including the Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahimi Gambari, and the Permanent Secretary, Umar Tijjani.

As both men left the Aso Chambers waiting area, Buhari said to Tinubu, “This is the Gallery where you will be meeting members of the press.”

In the State House Banquet Hall, the President presented Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima with the National Honours of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, which were given to Tinubu the previous day.

The official transfer of power will take place on Monday, May 29, 2023, and both leaders have already exchanged documents.
