On Monday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced that the Federal Government is poised to reveal a comprehensive plan for the nationwide implementation of the Digital Switch Over (DSO).

Idris made this declaration during the opening of the Management Conference and Retreat of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Abuja.

While emphasizing the government’s unwavering commitment to the Digital Switch Over project, Idris assured that the Ministry of Information and National Orientation is diligently working on a fail-safe DSO blueprint.

This blueprint, he mentioned, is intended to encompass both urban and rural areas across Nigeria.

During his address, the minister stressed the pivotal role of NTA as a key stakeholder in executing the DSO initiative.

He urged the national television network to contemplate the ever-changing landscape of the media industry, particularly in light of emerging technologies and shifting viewer preferences that present both challenges and opportunities.

Idris further challenged NTA to adapt and innovate, embracing advancements while maintaining the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
